Quenching, annealing, tempering, normalizing(四)
Jan 08, 2019
The main difference between quenching, annealing and normalizing is that the cooling speed is fast, and the purpose is to obtain martensite structure. Martensite is an unbalanced structure obtained by quenching of steel. It has high hardness, but poor plasticity and toughness. The hardness of martensite increases with the increase of carbon content in steel.
